Challenge
John Deere's challenge was to collect data from their clients who use mixed-fleet equipment that outputs data in different proprietary formats.
Solution
The Field Data Adapter APIs were implemented to convert data from a proprietary format output and transform it into a common output format used by their system.
Results
Deere’s cloud solution is now able to accept data from mixed-fleet equipment.

SUMMARY
John Deere offers a cloud solution for data to be collected either from a thumb drive or directly from the equipment via a wireless connection. The challenge was to collect data from their clients who use mixed-fleet equipment that outputs data in different proprietary formats.
The Field Data Adapter APIs were implemented to convert data from a proprietary format output and transform it into a common output format used by their system.
Deere’s cloud solution is now able to accept data from mixed-fleet equipment and is not limited to one proprietary file format, dramatically increasing the utility of their cloud solution for their clients.
